FAQS & TIPS

FAQs and Tips: Front-Loading Washers and Dryers

Why isn't my dryer drying my clothes?
The dryer vent may be blocked, lint screen on the outside of your home may be fully covered, or the heating element is malfunctioning. Review my tips on dryer venting to be sure you unit complies. If your dryer vent is blocked, it is a fire hazard and it would be better for you not to run the dryer for an extended period. Never use white plastic exhaust duct on any dryer! The plastic is not only flammable; it dramatically increases drying time.

How often should I have my dryer professionally cleaned

Why isn't my washer draining?

What are the advantages of a front load washer?
* Front load efficiency reduces annual water costs by nearly 70%. Front loaders typically use 40 percent less water than top-loaders. Their tumble action uses water movement to clean rather than an agitator--and this requires much less water. Over the course of a year the average family could save enough water to fill a backyard pool!
* Front load washers use up to 75% less electricity to run because continuously rotating action requires less energy than alternating agitation.
*Front loaders have a king-size capacity, enabling you to wash two baskets of laundry in a single load.
*Front load washers and dryers automatically customize each laundry load for better stain removal. Advanced rinse technology incorporates a fresh water rinse for whiter whites, brighter colors and clothing that smells and feels fresher.
* Front loaders feature whisper-quiet washing and the spin cycle is so efficient that wash time equals dry time--so you make fewer trips to the laundry room.

Do your replacement parts come with a warranty?
Yes, they come with a 1 year warranty on the part that is replaced.

Front Loading Washing Machine Tips

*Make sure your machine is level.
*Keep your washing machine clean by adding 1/2 gallon (2 litres) of vinegar and let the machine run through an entire wash cycle. Do this once a year to keep your machine sparkling.
*Make sure your hose screens are clean.
*Avoid over loading.

All Dryers

*Clean lint screen after each use.
*Have dryer professional cleaned once a year.
*Keep your dryer's outside exhaust clean.
*If your dryer has an automatic dry cycle, use it rather than a timed cycle.
*Separate loads into light and heavy items (underwear and rugs do better if kept apart!)
